Why dub SSJ2 Gohan's transformation sucks

This is an excerpt from my sub/dub comparisons:

DBZ episode 184

Japanese title: “The Tragic No. 16!! An Enraged Super Gohan Begins Taking Action”
English title: “Cell Juniors Attack!”

Well, this is the episode where Funi ruined a scene so much that it went from a beautiful scene, possibly the best scene in the entire series, to a generic, boring and bland transformation scene that just really sucks.

First, there’s the innner monologue. In the original, he is silent, but in the dub Gohan starts talking to himself about how he needs to unlock his power to save everyone. THAT’S NOT HOW GOHAN’S INNER POWERS HAVE WORKED, NOR WILL THEY WORK THAT WAY NOW! Gohan’s powers are released in a sudden explosion of anger, of which he himself has no control over. No stupid crap about letting it slip. Just like in real life, when you enter a rage fit, you don’t think “time to rage now!”, you just start punching everything in your sight, without using your mind at all.

Then there’s the horrible dub music. Stupid shitty elevator music that we’ve heard a thousand times already. In the original a song is played in the background, sung by Hironobu Kageyama. It’s a great song, and perfect for this scene. I don’t feel like posting the lyrics, but it’s about an evil soul appearing, releasing your well of power and fighting with all the strength you have. But Funi doesn’t realise what good means so they fuck over the whole scene with their shit.

Then the narrator cuts in immediately after the initial transformation. The narrator’s tale is actually quite epic and gets you fired up for the next episode. He’s pretty much the only saving grace of this whole debacle. ...he does say that Gohan is 11 years old though.

I agree, I have felt that I've read this before, and like before, I find Funi episodes epic enough. Is japense episodes better, quite possibly yes. But I hate reading subtitles, and will probly alway's hate reading subtitles. So an english version of DBZ will alway's be #1 to me.

And that's not counting the topics I made about season covers, Funi idiocies and Zymemaru's dub loving.
